NEWS ADVISORY

For Immediate Release

May 13, 2013

9/12 Project will not be distracted!

Since their inception, many 9/12 groups have been singled out and received a letter from the IRS trying to silence their voice. It was clear to us early on that our organization was being scrutinized due to implied affiliation with Glenn Beck and patriot organizations.

The 9/12 Project was founded on principles and the idea of standing together and to show that you are not alone. It is in principle that we objected to the obvious overreach of federal agencies beyond its authority. It is our groups spirit of personal responsibility and accountability that many of the 912 groups made a principled stance against the IRS early on and demonstrated to an overreaching administration that WE SURROUND THEM.

We are proud of the thousands of individual citizens that stood up to the tyranny of the IRS and would not comply to their demands but made a principled stance. With the recent revelations from IRS officials, as being reported in the press, we feel they were warranted in their original concerns that they were unfairly targeted and just in their actions.

Yvonne Donnelly National Chair for the 9/12 Project said “We will not permit this to become a distraction and will remain focused on our core mission of inspiring individuals and groups to connect with their communities through education, service and dedication to our 9 Principles and 12 Values. We will accept IRS apology as being less than appropriate and timing suspect. We believe applications of 9/12 groups specifically were targeted and coordinated and people should be held accountable.”

Eric Wilson, National 9/12 Co-Chair and director of the Kentucky 912 had these addition comments– “while this is a victory for free speech and liberty in regards to the IRS recent apology, we still believe there are many unanswered questions the IRS and administration should still be forced to respond too.”

The 9/12 Project operates a civic organization for the purpose of charity, education, and recreational purposes. Their mission is to inspire individuals and groups to connect with their communities through education, service and dedication to our 9 Principles and 12 Values.”

The 912 Project along with 912 Super Seniors will be collecting gift cards and donations to give to the residents of Breezy Point, NY. The residents of this area were not only got hit by the horrific hurricane that slammed into the East Coast on Sunday, but the lost everything they own to a fire that destroyed over 100 homes in their community.

Please consider donating an American Express or Visa gift card or a cash donation to purchase gifts cards to be given to the families in need. Barbara Samuells from 912 Super Seniors will be working on identifying families. Barb and her family lived in the NYC area. They have been fortunate to get through the storm with minimal drama, but as 912ers we are all concerned about our neighbors who are greatly suffering at this time.

All through the month of October and up to November 11th, we are encouraging schools, churches, friends, and neighbors to write letters or postcards of appreciation to those that have served this nation! You can then deliver those letters to the veterans through the V.A. Hospitals such as Walter Reed, VFW halls, American Legion Posts and other Veteran’s organizations. Please help us grow this project and grow its success.
Attached is a flyer for you to print and post this in as many places as possible. Senior centers, churches, schools and clubs can make a great activity of this heartfelt project. We are also working with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts organizations and if you have a local troop, please present this to them.

This is a growing project in the works. Any and all suggestions to help grow and refine this effort are really appreciated and welcome! With all of the attention on politics and elections, please help us make sure the veterans are not forgotten.

Put all other issues on the back burner. We’ve got work to do. If you don’t focus on the most important election of our life time, you only have yourself to blame, again!

This election is about choosing between our Freedoms or continuing down the path of Socialism. After all that you have done to educate yourself and your community on our Founding Fathers, the Constitution, our personal liberties and rights, don’t let it all go to waste. You cannot sit there and complain without putting in the effort. Every little bit helps. Commit to 2 hours a week. Let’s show them how 912ers roll!

Continue educating on the issues

Contact your nearest Victory Center to sign up to volunteer

Make phone calls

Participate in walking campaigns

Organize a rally to be held in your town no matter what the outcome. A day/evening of gathering for Americans will be a much needed event. Plan on singing, speaking and praying! 912ers always come together as one America.

You may also want to consider standing together with your local members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) to support them. If there is any lashing out directed at that particular denomination, 912ers should stand together shoulder to shoulder in unity.

On 9/11 we were filled with shock and terror. I remember feeling like the day would never end and the attacks would keep on coming. But the day did end. When it did, we gathered together in our communities and held one another. We got on our knees and sought God.

Then on 9/12 we did what Americans always do. We got down to the business at hand. We came out and helped one another. People from all over the country got in their cars and trucks and headed to Ground Zero to assist in the rescue efforts and support the first responders. Regular folks brought tons of food and bottled water for the exhausted police and fire fighters. Americans all over the country donated blood and money for the victims and their families. We showed the heart of this nation and stood on the principles and values that made this the greatest country the world has ever known. On that day we swore we would never forget.

Do you ever feel as if we have forgotten? As a nation have we gone back to sleep? The weeks after 9/11 church attendance soared. Sadly, that elevated attendance would not last. The Red Cross had more blood donations than they could handle. Now we are hearing about donor shortages. While on 9/12 wonderful people drove across the country to provide meals for the heroes at Ground Zero, most food banks today are experiencing shockingly empty shelves.

The 9/12 Project was founded on these ideas. 9/12 groups all across the country strive to live out the principles and values that the Founding Fathers put forth. It’s a commitment that every American needs to make if we are to restore our nation and take it back from the brink of extinction we find ourselves nearing.

September 11th really caught me by surprise this year. I knew it was coming up. I knew they would be showing footage of the tragic events of that day in a constant loop on cable-news channels. I knew the talk-radio hosts would all be playing audio of police and fire department dispatchers desperately calling out to their brothers & sisters who were suddenly no longer on the other end of the radio. I knew it was coming, but when it finally arrived I simply wasn’t ready for how it would affect me.

As I listened to the radio with my headphones at work, I found myself holding back the tears, hoping my co-workers wouldn’t see. My stomach was in knots and I had to get up and leave the room. Why was it suddenly so emotionally powerful all over again? Why this year?

The conclusion I came to was this. I forgot and I was ashamed. No, I hadn’t forgotten it completely, but I had been taking it for granted for several years now. I hadn’t been taking the time to reflect on what happened, and how it changed us for the better and for worse. I felt terrible. But it was that moment, when I felt the worst, that a fresh wind of real hope blew into my sails. Tomorrow is 9-12!

September 12 was the day we realized that we had been asleep. It was the day we woke up and decided to be different. The day when we really, sincerely, honestly and truly didn’t care about politics, or the President, or race, or class, we just cared about each other and our country. I don’t know where you were, but I remember where I was. I was at a prayer service, not in a church, but outside, in public, on city property!! The presence of God and the sense of unity and togetherness was so real you could feel it. We felt like we could take on the entire world if we needed to!

So don’t take 9-12 for granted either. Take time to reflect on what happened when our movement started, and how it changed us all for the better. We surround them! Remember all the tea parties and the 9-12 March on Washington. Think about all you’ve learned!! Let it fuel and inspire you to get involved this fall and help us restore our country, our constitution, and the American way of life.

Peace to you.

What makes a movement strong is staying true to the mission and goals. As the Project launched we were charged with gathering with our neighbors around our kitchen tables. Remember who we were on 9/12/2001? Americans stood together in their grief not caring about the color of your skin, your political affiliation, or the religion you practice. Could we be those people again? Many groups formed dedicated to working on connecting with their community to focus on what they saw as the issues that needed attention. In overwhelming numbers, individuals and groups identifying themselves as 912er’s, got interested in local political issues. This does not make our organization a political movement; it just means that folks decided this is how they wanted to connect with their community. Many of these individuals had never been active in city council meetings, Board of Education hearings or town hall events. Our members educated themselves on the processes put in place, the Constitution and what our Founding Fathers laid out for us in the development of our great Country.

Our mission from day one has been to educate ourselves, give back through service and show others through our Principles and Values that America is still the greatest Nation. Groups such as the Central NY 912ers’ have embraced education; the Florida group lead by Shannon Armstrong from South Florida 912 carries out service projects that will warm your heart. The Southtown 912 group out of Chicago, does outreach to our military, the Pittsburgh 912 group focuses on informing their community on the Progressive movement, and Cedar Park Texas 912 works on Preparedness efforts. These are just a small example of what our groups are doing 3 years later!

Many individuals identify themselves as 912ers without being active in a structured group. Formed groups have merged with other movements to concentrate on politics at a higher level and groups have split to carry out the mission that they see as the important issues. This is what grassroots is all about. Local involvement at its best! You have taken on the tasks of deciding what needs to be done in your community not waiting around for someone to tell you what is important in your community. You decided and will continue too many years from now. This is the power of grassroots. “We the people” has never been more meaningful to individuals who up until 3 years ago hadn’t given that phrase much of a thought.

People have suggested to me that the 912 project is irrelevant. Could you imagine? The groups that have stayed focused, on message and dedicated to the mission are as relevant as any group out there. These are the groups that we will still be talking about when we celebrate our 10 year mark. Changing one community at a time. Thank you for your dedication. This is your movement, your Project. You are the people.

by Paul Dopp

The 9.12 Project started a little over two years ago.
Is it what you hoped it would be? Where do you see it in 10 years, 20 years? What can you gain from participating in the 9.12 Project?

I’m not sure the 9.12 Project is what I hoped it would be, but I am sure that it is what it is supposed to be.

People came to our first meeting with a multitude of fears, hopes and agendas. All of us felt that where the country was headed just didn’t seem right. Actually we were positive what we saw was wrong, but many could not articulate precisely why. Like a road map that has had coffee spilled on it, the lines were fuzzy and the destinations blurred. We were appalled by where were we going and angered that our political “leaders” brushed us aside as rubes for daring to ask how their direction jived with the map.

And then came a voice that proclaimed with simple clarity. The old maps of governance are still with us! Their directions are clear! We CAN understand them if we understand the principles and values that guided the Founders.

So we came together. Some were hoping for a political outlet to replace one or both the main political parties that have long since abandoned fiscal sanity and founding principles. Some were spoiling for a fight but not quite sure how to engage the oppressor. Many were frustrated with their own ignorance. They needed to know what was right. They worried about how to press the politicos to do the right thing after they got a handle on it themselves. Almost everyone was scared. Our words and actions were governed by a gnawing fear that it might be too late. Had the government of, by and for the people perished while we slept? Were we already doomed to tyranny?

That was 2 years ago. The protesters and short-fused have left. The fearful have gone back underground. Of course as individuals we may go protest the current ills and outrages, but as a group we have chosen to fight the greatest enemy of our freedom: the ignorance of our fellow citizens.

So what can one gain from involvement with a 9.12 group today? Enlightenment. You cannot do that which is right unless you KNOW what is right. You cannot lead a people unless you know to where you are going. Participation in a 9.12 effort will expose you to great books, great ideas and a safe venue to discuss, argue, and hopefully fully apprehend the gift that this country is supposed to be. And if you are as fortunate as I, you will find a very expanded circle of associates and more importantly friends. People with whom you share a common passion, and eventually, trust. You find yourself willing to sacrifice with and for people who would never be in your “natural” circle of friends. Why? Because you know and respect what they believe. These are the kind of associations Benjamin Franklin sought in his efforts to maximize his future, and we are doing the same in hopes of securing the future of our country.

Where will we be in the coming decades? I cannot say. What I hope is that we will fade away because the country will have righted its course. I hope that a revival across the land will bring these truths back into the sphere of normal education. And with the truth known and protected perhaps future generations will remember us like the Sons of Liberty – commemorated but no longer necessary. But until that day, we read, we learn, we proclaim. And we make some of the best friendships a human being can know as we rebuild our country’s foundation.

The Connecticut 9/12 Project launched a gift card drive to benefit our neighbors who are affected by the tornado that ripped through Springfield, Massachusetts. Donna Rinaldi, of the 9/12 Project in Massachusetts, suggested that we connect with the Springfield Rescue Mission, which has been very active in helping victims who lost their homes. They have been providing shelter, food and other necessaries as people try to figure out how to rebuild their lives. The Mission suggested that the best way for us to help might be to send gift cards. This will allow them to purchase items they need locally to help them continue to provide for victims staying at the mission, as well as allowing them to give the cards to the victims to help them get items they need.

Please send the gift cards to: Springfield Rescue Mission, 19 Bliss Street, Springfield, MA 01102-9045.

Please consider including a note of support letting them know that their friends from the 9/12 Project in Connecticut are praying for them.

As a nation based on Judeo-Christian values, America literally owes her existence to Israel. As we learned from reading The 5,000 Year Leap, the very structure of our government came from Moses.

The North Pinellas 9/12 Project invites members from all other Tampa Bay 9/12 and Tea Party groups to join us for a rally to voice our support for Israel. We also hope that other groups will plan simultaneous “Support Israel” events in their communities.

When: May 13th at 4:30pm
Since the Jewish Sabbath begins Friday at sundown, we will begin the event at 4:30pm on Friday, May 13 to catch the goin’-home traffic. We plan to rally until at least 6:00pm since Sabbath candle lighting begins approximately at 7:53pm.

Location: 30387 U.S. 19, Clearwater, FL 33761

Please help us focus this event. This will be a single-issue event. There will be NO other political signs allowed. This event will focus only on expressing support for Israel.

Suggested verbiage is as follows:

“Support Israel!”

“I support Israel!”

“We support Israel!”

“North Pinellas 9/12 supports Israel!”

We hope you will join us, or schedule a rally in your area!
